...and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a
reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. I Peter 3:15
Sunday School
The purpose of the Sunday morning Teen Sunday School will be for the
teaching and training of young people for use in the ministry. From the life of
Christ to Bible doctrine; from A-Z Practical Christianity to training on
leadership, everything has the goal of preparing a teen to be ready to give
and answer to every man that asketh them a reason of the hope that is in
them with meekness and fear.
Wednesday Nights
Their are two parts to our Wednesday night studies. Through a program
called Proteens we focus on the practical side of the Christian life. Each year
focuses on a different study that helps teens to prepare for life’s challenges.
We start off with fellowship time and quickly move into a quiz about what we
studied the prior week. Then teens compete with each other through teams
that challenge each other in their knowledge of God’s Word . Afterwards their
is a Bible message pertaining to the years study and then a time of fun and
activity.
During the summer teens split into groups by gender and are challenged
through programs called Bright LIGHTS for girls and Light Shop for boys. For
girls it is a time of preparation for becoming the young lady that honors the
Lord in her life. The boys group focuses on becoming a leader in both the
home and th church.
Activities
Activities should have a purpose. (I Cor. 10:23)
•
For fellowship, edification, and teaching of the youth group (Rom.
14:19)
•
Helping teens interact with other teenagers.
•
Reaching the lost (Mark 16:15)
•
Though activities can be a vital part of the youth ministry, it will not be
thecenter of it. They are a means to accomplish a goal not the goal
itself.
Other Programs include:
Youth Rallies with other churches in the area - for fellowship and challenge.
